Damon Baker - Photographer

"Loving and living life with anxiety and empathy is like dancing in the rain—both trembling and tender, uncertain and alive. It means moving through the world with a heart that feels everything deeply, often too deeply, where joy and fear sit side by side, holding hands in the quiet corners of your chest.

To love with anxiety is to offer your heart anyway, even when it stutters with worry, even when your mind spins stories of what could go wrong. It’s the courage to continue to care despite the fluttering moths in your stomach and the tightness in your throat. It’s waking up each day and choosing connection, knowing that your love might feel like a storm but still carries warmth like sunlight on our skin.

Empathy makes it more intense. You don’t just feel your own feelings—you absorb others… like rain soaking into the earth. You notice the subtle pain behind someone’s smile, the notes in their laugh. You hurt with them. And yet, this is beautiful. You love fiercely, not to spite the pain but because of it. You see people, in all theirs and your honesty.

Life with anxiety and empathy is not easy. It is raw and vulnerable. You cry. You overthink. You lie awake wondering if you said the right thing, did enough, are enough. But you also love in a way that is rare—unfiltered, honest, fully present. You celebrate small victories. You understand what it means to hold space for someone, because you’ve so often needed that space yourself.

And maybe the magic is in this: loving life through the fear, not after it ends. It’s learning that life isn’t something you conquer… it’s something you feel, deeply, messily, beautifully. You’re not broken. You’re not alone.

You are exquisitely human.

Thank you for trusting me with your heart @officialomar - it’s kind of cute that these are just the beginning set of pieces of art we have created… part one, be free."

Damon's voice deserves to be heard

I never new of a photographer like him, not that I know many photographers anyway. However, I love his sensitivity, the way how he sees the world, which I share and support.  I understand that there are some people who can feel a bit uncomfortable when watching these pictures of Omar, but that is just because they are looking at them from the wrong perspective. I invite you to see the real vulnerability, humanity and humbleness behind them. It is not about sex, eroticism or trying to show too much skin just to get attention. There is a message behind each picture, just look at Omar's eyes and you will understand. Thank you, Damon for this beautiful art you are sharing with us, and thank you Omar for being real and allowing us to see a bit deeper into your soul. I was never as proud of you as I am now.
